Overview of Project

In an ambitious move to streamline health services and improve regulatory practices, Incite was tasked with helping guide the amalgamation of eleven diverse health regulatory colleges into two new entities. This initiative aimed to consolidate resources, enhance public safety, and create more cohesive standards for health professionals across the province of British Columbia, Canada.

Client Background

The project was commissioned by the BC Ministry of Health, targeting a strategic overhaul of the province’s fragmented health regulatory framework. The client sought to create a unified and efficient system through the merger of colleges regulating similar professions.

Incite-Led Deliverables:

Incite’s involvement was comprehensive, encompassing brand development (naming, visual identity, messaging and positioning) of the two new regulatory colleges, impacted party engagement, and developing an implementation plan for the rollout of the new organizational brands. Key deliverables included:

  1. Identification of New Organizational Names: Engaging with both internal and external impacted parties, Incite provided the recommended organizational names for the new colleges.
  2. Development of New Organizational Brands: Creating distinct messaging and positioning, and for the newly formed and named ‘College of Health and Care Professionals of BC’ and ‘College of Complementary Health Professionals of BC.’
  3. Engagement with Impacted Parties: Engaging a broad spectrum of impacted partners and organizations, including internal staff, regulated professionals, and members of the Indigenous community and the public to foster trust and secure buy-in for the amalgamation process.
  4. Collaborative development of visual identities: Working alongside Sulksun(Shane Pointe), Incite created a collaborative space that resulted in the design of each of the college’s new visual identities.
  5. Building of a Brand Implementation Plan: Establishing a plan for how the colleges should rollout the new brands to their staff, registrants, partners, and the public.

Impact

Incite’s work positively impacted the amalgamations with:

  • Increased Engagement and Buy-In: To inform the two new brands look, feel, and messaging, Incite:
    • Engaged with impacted parties for over 48 hours through one-on-one conversations, roundtables, and planning sessions to understand their perceptions and gain buy-in
    • Listened to over 100 unique voices, perceptions, and concerns
    • Engaged with various Indigenous elders, cultural leaders and regulatory professionals.
  • Robust Brand Identity and Recognition: The new brands were well-received, embodying the values and missions of the amalgamated entities, which helped in maintaining the individual identity and integrity of each profession under the unified regulatory bodies.
  • Cohesive Brand Materials: The visual and strategic presentation of the amalgamation was supported by materials designed by Incite including logos, stationery packages, and in-use examples to showcase how the brands can live and be presented to the public.

Conclusion:

The BC Health Regulators Amalgamation stands as a testament to Incite’s expertise in managing complex, high-stakes projects that require deep understanding of public policy, stakeholder engagement, and brand strategy.
