ACDH: Brand Strategy, Visual Identity Development, and Strategic Planning

Overview of Project

Incite’s engagement with the Alberta College of Dental Hygienists (ACDH) spanned several years, beginning in 2020. Our initial project focused on developing a robust communications strategy, which included conducting surveys to gather feedback from registrants. This feedback was crucial in understanding the stakeholders’ perceptions and expectations. In 2022, we spearheaded a significant rebranding and renaming initiative, transforming the College of Dental Hygienists of Alberta into ACDH. This project encompassed creating a new visual identity, brand guidelines, and messaging, along with support in developing a brand video. In 2023, our collaboration culminated in a strategic planning session aimed at refining and solidifying ACDH’s strategic direction.

Background of Client

The Alberta College of Dental Hygienists (ACDH) is a regulatory body focused on public protection and maintaining the highest standards of dental hygiene practice in Alberta. The college plays a crucial role in ensuring that dental hygienists meet professional standards and operate within a framework that prioritizes public health and safety.

Project Outcomes/relevance

  • Clear Role and Responsibility Communication: Developed a communication strategy that effectively conveyed ACDH’s role and responsibilities to all stakeholders, ensuring a clear understanding of the college’s mandate.
  • Elimination of Confusion: Addressed and mitigated confusion about the college’s identity and purpose, making it distinct from dental hygiene professional associations.
  • Effective Communication Platforms: Identified and implemented the most effective communication platforms, content strategies, and frequencies to engage stakeholders.
  • Strategic Direction: Facilitated a strategic planning session that provided a strong strategic direction and clear mandate for ACDH, positioning it for future success.
  • Rebranding and Renaming: Successfully rebranded and renamed the college to better reflect its mandate of public protection, including the development of a new visual identity and brand guidelines.
  • Creative Support: Provided creative support for development of ACDH’s brand video including script and visual review to ensure the video fit with ACDH’s strategic direction.
